Mr. Khairul Anwar Ab. Rahman

Khairul Anwar Abd Rahman is the Unit Head, Shariah Risk Management at Meethaq. Previously, he was the Head of Shariah Management Department and a Secretary to the Shari’a Committee of Export- Import Bank of Malaysia Berhad.

In his more than 10 years-involvement in the Islamic Financial Industry, he possesses a vast experience and practical knowledge of Shariah and Islamic finance. He served in many institutions with different jurisdiction such as in UAE, Oman and Malaysia including Noor Bank Dubai, Al Rajhi Bank Malaysia and Standard Chartered Saadiq Malaysia.

Mr. Khairul Anwar also has experience in Halal industry where he served as the Halal Executive and Shariah Advisor in Chemical Company of Malaysia Berhad. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Shariah specializing in Fiqh and its Jurisprudence (Fiqh & Usul Fiqh) from Mu’tah University of Jordan. Furthermore, he is a certified professional banker and holds a Certificate of Islamic Law, Banking & Takaful from Harun Hashim Law Centre, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).

He is no stranger in dealing with world renown Islamic finance scholars such as Sheikh Dr. Saleh Alheidan, Sheikh Dr. Mohamed Ali Elgari, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Sattar Abu Ghuddah, Sheikh Tan Sri Datuk Dr. Mohd Daud Bakar, Sheikh Datuk Prof. Dr. Mohamad Akram Laldin, Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Abdul Rahim Sultan Al-Olama, Prof. Datin Dr. Rusni Hassan and others.
