ASAS Membership is a recognised benchmark of profesionalism in Shariah Advisory services. In supporting the Shariah advisors to meet the global demands and pressures, ASAS requires a firm commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and lifelong learning from its members.
The CPD programmes undertaken by members shall be at a minimum of 20 CPD points per year.
The CPD Points system is a mechanism to help members to keep track on their achievements and the Points will be issued whenever members are involved in the following activities:
- Attending programmes and events organised by ASAS or by any other organisations;
- Contributing to the development of Shariah Advisors professionalism by authoring books, writing articles, speaking engagement, teaching, being a panellist, and being a mentor.
Please refer to the current Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Guidelines for guidance on what may and may not qualify as a CPD activity.
CPD Points from ASAS programmes and events are automatically recorded in the members’ CPD Dashboard. Members need to log into their accounts to register for the said programmes or events or to view their CPD Record.
CPD activities through other organisations and through personal contributions shall be manually submitted by members via the CPD Dashboard for ASAS’s consideration and approval.
